At the end of the fifties Jeanette Turner gave Pete an English translation of a Turkish anti war poem by Nazim Hikmet. In good old folk tradition Pete put an existing melody underneath: that of James Waters' ballad The Great Silkie. There's a Judy Collins version of that one.
