Waylon & Willie [n°1 C&W, top 30 US]
Willie & Waylon wrote this in a motel room in Forth Worth in '69, that is to say: Waylon wrote it, Willie just came up with one (crucial) lyric line: "Through teardrops and laughter they walk through this world hand in hand", winning him half of the song. Waylon was inspired by an add for an Ike & Tina Turner show saying: "Tina Turner singing songs about good-hearted women loving good-timing men". What if Tina was unaware of that story when she covered it?
