The vocal version has Johnny Mercer lyrics. To commemorate this native son, the city of Savannah, GA renamed the creek behind Mercer's house Moon River. Johnny's burial ground, Bonaventure cemetery (the garden of good and evil in John Behrend's bestseller Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil), also looks out on that creek.
