Artist: John Michael King
Author: Frederick Loewe/Alan Jay Lerner
Label: Columbia
Year: 1956
Biggest hit from musical My Fair Lady, where King was Freddy Eyrsford-Hill. Song was almost dropped from the plot for John Michael was not a main character. Pygmalion, the original play by George Bernard Shaw where My Fair Lady was based upon, ends with Elisa and Freddy getting married. Sounds more logic. Shaw encountered several bad experiences with adaptations of his plays. Reason why he always objected against them as long as he lived. Pygmalion was written in 1913, Shaw died in 1950, musical My Fair Lady was from 1956.
