Roud #291. Ernest John Moeran recording (as Down By The Riverside). E.J. had this traditional singer from Norfolk on the radar since 1922. This recording (for the EFDSS) was released in '98 on Come Let Us Buy The License, Vol 1 in The Voice of the People series and that same year also on The Rough Guide To English Roots Music. In '65 Harry sang it as The Bold Fisherman for Leslie Shepard and that recording came with the Harry Cox anthology The Bonny Labouring Boy (Topic - 2000).
