On LP The Unquiet Grave. Child ballad #209, related to a Scottish ballad about George Gordon, Earl of Huntly (16th century), who was jailed for refusing to arrest a poor poacher. In most versions Geordie (or Georgie) is the poacher, while his wife, mother of 6 (and almost 7) of his children, begs for pardon but won't be heard.
