Real name: Aleck Ford, after his mother but as Rice Miller he adopted the name of his stepfather. Also known as Willie Williams, Alex Willie Williamson, Liittle Boy Blue, Buzzard Beak and The Signifyin' Goat. Played as Sonny Boy Williamson from '41 till '45 on radio station KFFA in Helena, Arkansas and recorded for Trumpet between '51 and '54, for Checker between '55 and '65 and for European companies like Storyville and L+R between '63 and '65. Not to be confused with John Lee Williamson, another blues harmonica player who recorded as Sonny Boy Williamson, but on RCA Bluebird in Chicago between '37 and '47; therefore regarded as Sonny Boy Williamson I.
