Original title: Bagatelle in A Moll. Beethoven wrote this piano piece for Therese Malfatti, an impossible love, forbidden by her father, a medical doctor in Vienna. The music publisher couldn't read Beethoven's handwriting and turned it into Für Elise. There was never an Elise in Beethoven's life.
