As the song suggests a war situation while there was no conflict in sight in 1961, Jim Reeves' demo was shelved. Five years later, with Vietnam headlining galore, his version (made over with Nashville Sound) became a hit. His 1961 demo was finally released on Jim's Bear Family box set Welcome To My World in '94.
