On lp Sings Folksongs From The Three Laurels. First collected by Cecil Sharp in his songbook English Folk Songs From The Southern Appalachians (1916). The woman he heard it from was Mrs. Tom Rice from Big Laurel, NC. Benjamin Britten used the tune in Folksong Arrangement #8.
