Blaze Foley was Townes Van Zandt's and Lucinda Williams' drinking pal. Townes gave him a tip of the hat in Blaze's Blues, Lucinda in Drunken Angel. The cd Live At The Austin Outhouse contains most of Blaze's official output. All the rest is on limited pressings with busted record companies, if not on stolen tapes or even lost masters. Blaze was the outlaw singer-songwriter personified, slept where he could. Proceedings of this live recording were due to benefit the local homeless people, in fact they were used to cover his own funeral expenses.
