Artist: Billy Preston
Author: George Harrison
Label: Apple
Year: 1970

Who was priviliged by Harrison to release it first (with Ringo on drums). Lennon & McCartney had not been impressed when George brought this song to the Get Back/Let It Be sessions in '69. One take then, a demo by George solo, finally came out on Anthology 3 ('96). Preston, who attended these 1969 Beatles sessions, released it on his Apple album Encouraging Words, along with an equally earlier My Sweet Lord, released two months before George's first solo project, triple album All Things Must Pass. Title (and lyrics) inspired by a Tao poem by Timothy Leary: All Things Pass ('66).
