Italian singer-songwriter in the Brassens- and Cohen tradition, from Genua and quite popular, who in 1979 along with his even more popular girlfriend (she had represented Italy at the Eurovision Songcontest four years earlier, ending third after ABBA) had been kidnapped in Sardinia where kidnapping is considered a normal means to earn a living. Three billion lire was the prize on their heads. The couple was held hostage high upon a mountain (Monte Lerno) for 117 days, chained to a tree and sleeping in a tiny tent, obvious inspiration for the Hotel Supramonte. All ended well, except for all the kidnappers, looking at 10 to 26 years in prison. Fabrizio showed piety towards the two shepherds forced to guard the couple on that mountaintop without ever being tempted to take advantage of their superiority.
