YELLOW RIVER

Artist: Tremeloes
Author: Jeff Christie
Label: Castle
Year: 1970

About a Rebel soldier coming back home in Yellow River after the Civil War. Jeff wrote it especially for the Tremeloes, who were really into CCR. Still it was outvoted for release as their next single in favor of Call Me Number One, a tune more in a prog rock vein, a mistake they still regret. Even today Yellow River is part of their golden oldies live shows, Call Me Number One is not.
