Not to be confused with bluesman King Solomon Hill's eponymous song, recorded in 1932. Real name: Joe Holmes, guitar player from McComb, MS, buddy of Blind Lemon Jefferson. Lived in the King Solomon Hill neighborhood (near Linden, LA). The Paramount people considered this a flashier name than Joe Holmes. Linden is mentioned in his lyrics. Issued on Document cd Backwoods Blues 1926-1935 and on JSP box set The Paramount Masters.
