In film Die Grosse Liebe, German propaganda schlager during WW II. Coauthor Bruno Balz had been arrested, tortured and incarcerated by the Gestapo who'd found him with a minor-aged boy. His writing partner Michael Jary, commissioned to write music for this film, convinced Joseph Goebbels to liberate Balz temporarily. In less than 24 hours they wrote two major hits: Davon geht die Welt nicht under and this one. Zarah's tears finished the job.
