16-year old from Hawaii who wrote it for his sister. Recorded with an Ampex 2-track machine in his bedroom, using the bathroom as echo chamber and an album sleeve as drum kit. Paid his studies with the royalty's (n°5 US) and never performed again. An example for us all.

The original inspired Tom Hanks for his film That Thing You Do (1999). A copy of the International 45 in mint condition values a fortune.
