Ginger Spice's big hit goes back two decades, when Martha Wash & Izora Rhodes were two larger-than-life gospel singing Weather Girls, originally known as Two Tons Of Fun. After backing up disco star Sylvester they sang lead for any non-touring dance act they could muster. You can hear Martha in clips by Black Box and CC & The Music Factory. To camouflage her overweight, they used lip-synching models in the clip. She had to sue to saveguard her rightful part in the royalty cakes.
