Employees [vocal & guitar: author Per W]
Do The Standing Still was the second single of Brussels band The Employees, salarymen with a twist and connections: film maker Dominique Deruddere (Wait Until Spring Bandini) shot the clip, illustrator Ever Meulen draw the sleeve. The Employees had a front man with a face: Geert Vanroelen, the Brussels Gainsbourg. More ladykillers in the Employees second-line: Karel Theys, future bass player with Clouseau, Michel De Coster, future bass player with De Mens and Kloot Per W, ex bass player with The Misters. Let's concentrate on him since he wrote Do The Standing Still and cleaned up twenty years worth of mess. Instead of fueling a bonfire with it, he released his own anthology box set. So at least the world will know and always remember The Prodigy sampled half of a PDW-vocal line in Climbatize on The Fat Of The Land, while on top of that, here's the cassette demo to Do The Standing Still, first released on his first cassette release Music For Girls (Kloot 001). Keepers finders.
