On their Burrito DeLuxe lp. What about an earlier Stones version? The electric slide on the Stones demo proved their version wasn't ready for release. Such an out and out country tune needed a country trademark and that was nowhere to be found, apart from Jim Dickinson's minor chords on piano. Keith charged his friend Gram Parsons to pass the tape to his Burrito Brother Sneaky Pete Kleinow to add some pedal steel licks. That's when Gram asked for the Burritos to cut their own version. Gram collaborated on one of the outtakes of the Stones version (at the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio). These recordings were made in December '69 but were saved for Sticky Fingers, the first lp on the Stones' own label. Took them ages to materialize (problems with Decca and Allen Klein).
Covers:
Rolling Stones [see note; top 30 US]
Hill Country Revue [with Jim Dickinson's sons]
