Composer Leroy Anderson was Boston Pops' arranger and also wrote the famous The Typewriter, another instrumental (for typewriter and orchestra). Sleigh Ride's lyrics were added by Mitchell Parish, who also wrote Moonlight Serenade, Stardust and Stars Fell On Alabama and who translated Volare.
