With Coauthor Dan Burley on piano. Dan was a music critic for black New York newspaper The Amsterdam News and a part-time stride piano player (see also: They Raided The Joint). He also wrote slang encyclopedia The Original Handbook Of Harlem Jive and infected Lionel Hampton with the boogie woogie disease once he'd left Benny Goodman. To top it all off, Dan can also be counted for the whole Skiffle craze in England! Bill Colyer, the owner of Collet's jazz Record Shop in London, started a band with his brother Ken Colyer and Alexis Korner and named it The Skiffle Group after two instrumental titles from Dan Burley's canon: Skiffle Blues and Skiffle Jam. The rest is British blues history.
