Cuban patriotic song and their national anthem, about a woman from Bayamo, the first city to be liberated following the 1868 resurgence. She choose to burn down her own house instead of leaving it to the Spanish. Sindo Garay (1867-1968) first performed it in the Teatro de Bayamo.

Not to be confused with the 1848 love poem La Bayamesa, written by Francisco Castillo, José Fornaris and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes. The latter is regarded as one of Cuba's founding fathers.
