Following his world hit Kansas City, scored in '60 for Fire in New York. Wilbert was still under contract with this other New York label Savoy, so Fire had to wait two years before releasing Let's Stick Together. It didn't make any waves. Years later, freed from Robinson, Wilbert tried it again as Let's Work Together for Sue and then it hit. Most later versions follow that one. Bryan Ferry was the first to re-use the original title.
