Artist: Link Wray & The Ray Men
Author: Milt Cooper/Link Wray
Label: Rumble
Year: 1961
On his own label. A hit on Swan in '63. Used effectively in film Breathless (with Richard Gere) during a car pursuit. Recorded with the amp at the foot of the hotel staircase for maximum echo effect. Link's riffs inspired numerous metal guitarists.
Covers:
Milkshakes [as The Yorkshire Ripper]
Surftones [as Jack The Dripper]
Not to be confused neither with Nino Tempo's Jack The Ripper ('60) from the film of the same name, nor with the one by Screaming Lord Sutch (see there).
