Not to be confused with Driftin' Too Far From Shore from Knocked Out Loaded by Bob Dylan ('86), while he knew the gospel origine way too well. When as a child in Hibbing, Minnesota he moved with his parents to a bigger house, there was a music-box left with a record player inside with a 78RPM of Drifting Too Far From Shore on the turntable. In Martin Scorsese's No Direction Home documentary ('05), Dylan explains he started feeling to be someone else by listening to this record, as if he were born to wrong parents. This record gave him the idea being born far from where he was supposed to be. So he started finding his way home from there.
