Petravore is a crossroad in Tullynamoltra, part of Templeport in County Cavan, Ireland. Peder a Voher is Irish for Peter of the Road. The real Peter (McGovern) was an inn keeper there in the 18th century and Eileen Oge was the pride of the neighborhood. Percy French (1854-1920), friend of Collisson (1865-1920) wrote the words, Collisson the tune, based on traditional Shamrock Barndance. Collisson and French also co-wrote The Mountains Of Mourne.
