On debut album John Prine and re-recorded in '86 for album German Afternoons. The Singing Mailman Delivers (Oh Boy 2011) has the demo and a live version from '70. Song about the consequences of strip mining around this idyllic little place along the Green River in Muhlenberg Co, KY. Prine's last wish as formulated in the lyrics was to spread his ashes in said river where he spent considerable part of his youth.
