DO THE BOP

Artist: Johnny Madara & The Juvenaires
Author: Artie Singer/John Madara/David White
Label: Singular
Year: 1957

Original title inspired by the dance-craze of the day. But the bop was out of fashion by the time the demo was shopped around. Dick Clark (of American Bandstand fame) suggested new title At The Hop. The demo was shelved and first surfaced on bootleg (Singular). An official release followed in 2004. John Madara also wrote You Don't Own Me.
