Artist: Kenny Graham's Afro-Cubists
Author: Kenny Graham
Label: Esquire
Year: 1953

British sax player. Part of his Caribbean Suite.

Covers:

1966:

Harold Vick

1968:

Lester Sterling & Stranger Cole [as Bangarang; reggae classic, produced by Bunny Lee, without proper credits]

1987:

Shabba Ranks [as No Boogarism]

Bangarang is also featured on the definitive reggae-box The Story Of Jamaican Music (Island) and a fine example how reggae wasn't built on mento and rhythm & blues only, also on jazz. After all, many early reggae musicians like McCook, Drummond, Mittoo and Sterling came right out of the jazz department of Sister Mary Ignatius Davies' Alpha Boys school.
