On his Blue Guru cd. New Yorker Jon Tiven played with Jim Carroll and Don Covay, was responsible for the comeback of Arthur Alexander and Mack Rice (coauthor) and wrote songs for B.B. King, Ben E. King, Jimmy Witherspoon, Huey Lewis (He Don't Know), Jeff Healey (River Of No Return), Buddy Guy and Shemekia Copeland. The Jon Tiven Group had his wife Sally Tiven on bass, Todd Snare on drums and singer Alan Merrill, who wrote I Love Rock 'n Roll (see there).
