Artist: Don Nix
Author: Don Nix
Label: Enterprise
Year: 1973
White Memphis singer songwriter, once with The Mar Keys at Stax. Own production, cut in Muscle Shoals.
Covers:
Beck, Bogert & Appice [produced by Don Nix]
Miranda Louise [with Mike Henderson on guitar]
Don Nix & Friends [with Dan Penn, John Mayall, Steve Cropper and Tony Joe White]
Bernie Marsden [ex Whitesnake]
Beck, Bogert & Appice also recorded Don Nix's Sweet Sweet Surrender, another track from his lp Hobos, Heroes And Street Corner Clowns. Goin' Down is also a Don Nix song (see there), also covered by Jeff Beck. Go-between was Steve Cropper, no doubt. As Stax' home guitarist he produced both. There's another Black Cat Moan from 1927 on Columbia by Clara Smith & Her Five Black Kittens.
