RESPECT

Latest update on 22/12/2017

Artist: Otis Redding
Author: Otis Redding
Label: Volt
Year: 1965

In fact credits belong to Earl 'Speedo' Simms from The Premiers, who became Otis' road manager. He knew Respect from earlier formations, sweared to cut it but he never did. Instead, Otis adapted it for himself and he lived to see how Aretha singlehandedly changed it again (with a little help from Sam & Dave's When Something Is Wrong With My Baby).
