While Carl Perkins recorded Matchbox, with Jerry Lee Lewis on piano, Elvis dropped by to say hello. Sam Phillips, always alert, contacted Johnny Cash to come join and once he was in that famous picture was taken and the so-called Million Dollar Quartet session took place (without Johnny Cash who just stayed for the picture).
