The Hawketts were a college band from New Orleans with Art Neville, managed by DJ Jack The Cat (Ken Elliott) who changed a few words and cut it in the studio of the Jung Hotel in N.O.; showed the result to Phil Chess in Chicago (by telephone), who then released it; Poppa Stoppa, another N.O. DJ, turned it into a local standard.
