HELP ME MAKE IT THROUGH THE NIGHT

Latest update on 24/06/2014

Artist: Kris Kristofferson
Author: Kris Kristofferson
Label: Monument
Year: 1969

On his first lp. Two years later also in film Fat City. Rejected by Dottie West for 'immoral connotations'. Adultery was allowed as a topic in country songs but not without guilt. Since there wasn't any in this one, Kristofferson didn't even mind shopping it around. He actually wrote it on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico while working as a helicopter pilot for PHI in Morgan City, LA. (see also: Me And Bobby McGee)
