Artist: Nilla Pizzi
Author: Saverio Seracini/Vincenzo d'Acquisto
Label: RCA
Year: 1958

At the San Remo Festival. Second version by Tonina Torrielli. L'Edera (The Ivy) was beaten by Volare. Nilla Pizzi was the queen of Italian song (La Regina della Canzone Italiana) in days before Mina. Years in a row she dominated the market, always making the top 3 in San Remo, sometimes with more than one song. Being defeated by Volare was no big deal. A few months later she participated with that same L'Edera in another song contest (Canzonissima) and won.

Covers:

1964:

Cliff Richard [as Constantly, n°1 NL, top 5 UK]

1972:

Panchos [Mexican group as La Hiedra]

1996:

Nana Mouskouri [idem]

Translated in French (as Merci) and in German (as Wenn die Wolken sieh'n). L'Edera can't count the covers.
