Recorded by Dr. Harry Oster in Mamou, Louisiana somewhere between '56 and '59. At least an 18th century melody. 0ther than in New Orleans, Cajun Mardi Gras celebrates the coming of age more than the coming of spring. In a way, Cajun Mardi Gras is more related to 'Communion' than to 'Carnival' in catholic Europe.
