Artist: 71st Regiment Band
Author: Joseph Franz Wagner
Label: Edison
Year: 1899
Original title: Unter dem Doppeladler (1880s). Wagner was the march king of Vienna. Those two eagles represented the Austro-Hungarian empire of the Habsburgers. When Sousa's band picked it up it became popular overseas. Military march with a circus ring to it. A bluegrass- and a western swing standard to boot.
Covers:
Sousa's Band [hit US]
Highlanders [alias for Charlie Poole and his North Carolina Ramblers for Paramount because Columbia refused to record them with an extra fiddler in the line-up]
Champs [as Double Eagle Rock]
Eagles [as March Of The Eagles]
Fantômes [as Marche des aigles]
Heino [idem]
