About a real Sharleena (Romero), classmate of Roberto Rodriguez, probably the real author. Chaney & Chavez sang it in doowop group The Jaguars, but not until Manuel Chavez moved to The Sevilles the song was picked up for recording by Olympics producer Cliff Goldsmith.
