Rutebeuf was a French poet who died in Paris in 1285. Ferré used three of his poems: Complainte Rutebeuf, Griesche d'Yves and Mariage Rutebeuf. There were more poets who inspired Ferré: he made a song of Apollinaire's Le Pont Mirabeau and dedicated a whole album to the work of Louis Aragon.
