The Hawketts were a college band from New Orleans with Art Neville, managed by DJ Jack The Cat (Ken Elliott) who changed a few words and cut it in the studio of the Jung Hotel in N.O., showed the result to Phil Chess in Chicago (by telephone), who then released it. Poppa Stoppa, another N.O. DJ, turned it into a local standard.
