Artist: Beatles
Author: John Lennon/Paul McCartney
Label: Decca-files/Apple
Year: 1962

First song they played at their (declined) Decca audition, New year's day 1962. The song they wanted to impress with, but Paul sang alone and magic failed. What also hindered on this dreadful date were an uncomfortable ten hour ride in a cold van to get there and the sound engineer's hangover.

Covers:

1964:

Applejacks [band from Birmingham; top 20 UK; so this song did serve Decca]

Prior to it's release on Anthology 1, the Beatles' version had been the B-side of Searchin' on a Deccagone single in '76.
