Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards had to sue Sugarhill Records to be credited for the successful Sugarhill Gang cover. On the other hand Sugarhill Gang had all the reason to try to get credits for the Spanish world hit Aserejé. The lyrics of Aserejé (The Ketchup Song) by Las Ketchup ('02) were based upon the opening lines of Rapper's Delight, the rap song that started hip-hop: "I said a hip hop a hippie the hippie" became "Aserejé ja de jé de jebe" and "the boogie and the boogity beat" became "De bugi an de buididipi".
