Blind banjo player and guitarist. Sings 'blood-strained' and probably means 'bandits'. Lomax recording in the state penitentiary of Lynn, VA. Then aging Strothers was doing time for murdering his wife (with an axe). Re-issued on A Treasury Of Library Of Congress Field Recordings. First released on a 78 in 1942. Father Lomax first heard this song in 1933 in Texas from Lightnin' Washington. Variation on 19th century hymn Let Thy Kingdom, Blessed Savior.
