Christy Moore sang two versions of As I Roved Out: the one with Planxty and his own, performed in '79 and zchoed by Van Morrison in As I Walked Out in 2020.

When Alan Lomax moved his activities to Ireland and the British isles, 'folksong' wasn't even a common denominator. In search for traditional song material, he and his team of song catchers hunted for "songs that started with As I Roved Out", which became the title of his BBC radio folk series.
