Label: EMI
Year: 1993
Song was send to Danish A&R-man Poul Bruun as Torn. He selected it for Lis Sorensen's album Under Stjernerne Et Sted in a Danish translation by Elisabeth Gjerluff Nielsen. Braendt (Burned) became a local hit. Later Bruun burned Trine Rein from Norway for this song. Her (English) version was co-produced by co-author Thornalley. That's when the authors cut their own version with their (American) band Ednaswap. Same Thornalley later produced Natalie Imbruglia's version, reason why she sounded a lot like Trine Rein's.
Covers:
Trine Rein [from Norway as Torn; local hit]
Ednaswap [idem; authors for Elektra]
Natalie Imbruglia [idem; Aussie; n°1 B, n°2 UK & NL]
Ednaswap [idem; remix with Trine Rein/Imbruglia-influenced outro]
