Song about Oxford, MS, home of the state's university (Ole' Miss). Much ado there when black students started enlisting during the Civil Rights years. Dylan supported that struggle in person. "Two men died under the Mississippi moon, somebody better investigate soon". After forty years a KKK member was finally trialed and convicted for murder.
