Artist: John Currie
Author: Eric Bogle
Label: M7
Year: 1975

Belfast born, Australian based. Aussie author Bogle had Scottish roots. Song about Aussie WW I soldiers. Eric was inspired while observing a military parade of mutilated Gallipoli veterans. Not exactly cheerful, so it didn't become part of his regular live canon. The rare occasions he did perform his song, booing (by patriots) was a common reaction. When finally his song was noticed overseas, Eric dared cutting his own version.
