MA VIE FOUT L' CAMP

Artist: Fabrice Prévost
Author: Salvatore Acquaviva
Year: 1994

Only 500 copies sold. While 'author' Acquaviva sued Madonna, he got sued himself for plagiarism by Edouard Scotti Di Suoccio, author of Bloodnight ('82), proving two points: 1. High trees catch more wind. 2. There's only 7 notes to choose from.

Covers:

1998:

Madonna [5 x 4 measures in Frozen; n°1 UK, n°2 US & NL, n°3 B; sued successfully for plagiarism in Belgium; it wasn't just these (matching) measures, both Acquaviva and Madonna seem to know the same person and Madonna's defence wasn't convincing enough to exclude he worked as go-between]

Normally a case like this is solved out of court, but with two stubborn parties involved the law intervened and will do so again. Sympathy for the underdog is OK but in some cases (and this surely is one), the star is to blame. Conclusion #1: there's far too much money involved in royalty's. Conclusion #2: music goes in circles but that's no news for The Originals.
